Club Location & Important
Information
(For your own safety please make sure you read all the information)
The MK Model Helicopter Club has moved to a new field near Yardley Hastings, East South East of Northampton..
There are two maps and an aerial photograph in this section to help you find it, click the buttons to the left.
Directions
Find your way to Yardley Hastings on the A428.
From the South turn right into the village, from the North turn left.
Drive through the village and out the other side.
Take the first right and travel for 0.5 - 1 mile going past a farm on the left.
Take the first right (hidden slightly in some trees) into a narrow road.
Follow for a few hundred yards until it goes left on a slight rise. You should
see a farm track with a gate on the right. This is the entrance.
If you're a member you should know the combination by now. If you're a visitor
the gate should be unlocked if people are flying.
Please shut the gate when you drive in.
Follow the track until you see an obvious left turn into a field. You should
see a track across the grass.
IF YOU SEE RED FLAGS FLYING OR A BARRIER DRAWN ACROSS THE ACCESS TRACK DO NOT ENTER AS THESE INDICATE THAT THE NEARBY GUN CLUB IS SHOOTING
Important Information
With the new field there are a few things to be aware of:
With the gun club nearby safety is paramount. There are regular shoots every Sunday morning, 10:00 -13:00, and every Thursday evening, 17:00 - 21:00, during the season (which presumably means when it's light). There are also occasional shoots on Saturdays.
The gun club will put up red flags and draw a barrier across the access track to show when they are shooting.
DURING THESE TIMES, FLYING AND ACCESS TO THE FLYING AREA IS FORBIDDEN.
Contravention of these restrictions may result in your membership being suspended or terminated.
The gate to the field must be kept closed but there is no need to lock it whilst you are flying, however make sure you do not leave the padlock with the combination set.
Parking is between the first two trees in the hedge line, and then we have the pits area, followed by the club house.
